1.  Here is the puzzle.

This is a puzzle cache based off a thought I had over Easter weekend. The cache is not located at the posted cords. You can find the coordinates to the final in the following image. Happy Easter!

Additional Hints (Encrypt)
1. There are different ways to open and view the information in an image
2. eye level

2. Evaluate a potential solution.

There are two important clues that tell you about the nature of this puzzle.

1.  The Title:

"A Late Easter Cache"

2.  The first Additional Hint:

"There are different ways to open and view the information on an image"

These clues are reminiscent of the 'Easter Eggs' that are sometimes hidden in DVD movies, where tech savvy enthusiasts can uncover hidden movie clips and trivia.  Therefore, the most logical approach to this puzzle is to look for hidden information in the image.

3. Open the image text.

There is a variety of information connected with every image.  One of the ways you can access that information is to open the image with a text editor.  I used MS Word.

Start by saving the image to your computer.  (Depending upon the type of computer or device you are using, your procedure may be somewhat different than the one I used.)  Right click on the image, and choose "Save image as...", then save the image to your computer.

Now locate the image file on your computer, right mouse click on the file, and choose "Open with".  Then choose a text editor, like Microsoft Office Word.

The document may have a couple thousand pages that look like gibberish.

4. Locate the hidden coordinates.

Since there is no information regarding the final coordinates in the "Geocache Description", you will have to use the posted coordinates as a guide.  Since the cache container must be within 2 miles of the posted coordinates, N 44..., and W 091...will stay the same.

To locate the coordinates, search the image text for either 44 or 91 and look for the hidden coordinates.  Since there may be thousands of pages to look through, it will be easiest if you use a search function.

Starting at the top of the image text, type Ctrl F.  Inside the search field type either 44 or 91 and start your search.  You will have several occurrences of the number you are looking for.  Continue to click on "Find Next" until you see numbers that are unquestionably the solved puzzle coordinates.

5. Solved Coordinates.

Solved Coordinates:

   N 44 49.327, W 91 31.166

There is no GeoChecker for this puzzle.

  2. I tried Ctrl-Shift-I on the cache page and all my favorites came up. Since I'm not tech savvy on finding hidden information in images. I found a "Image Metadata Viewer" and checked the image and came up with a lot of data but had problem applying the information to the puzzle.

    1. Try using Ctrl F or Cmnd F. Then search every occurrence of either 44 or 91 until you find the solved coordinates.

  3. Ok. I've got it.

First, using Google Maps, check the extreme limits of Eau Claire, because that's where the posted coordinates are. You will determine that the coords must be N 44 49.???, W 91 31.???

Now, save the image, then open it with a text editor. I used MS Word. Then search for coordinates that start with either 44 or 91. I did Ctrl F and searched for 44. I found the coordinates at the bottom of the document. They are N 44 49.???, W 91 31.???. I'm not giving you the full coordinates, so you can try it yourselves.

If you need help, let me know.
