1.  Here is the puzzle.

Posted Coordinates: N 46° 00.312 W 091° 37.110

Geocache Description:

*DO NOT LOOK FOR THE CACHE AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!!!*

JBFFCAJ

EGIAABI

Additional Hints (No hints available.)

2.  Solve the puzzle.

The puzzle has two strings of numbers, which are the correct length for solved coordinates.  The letters in the puzzle range from A - J, and the numbers we need to use are 0 - 9.

List the letters A - J.  Then assign 0 - 9 to those letters, and try to solve the puzzle.  If that solution doesn't work, shift the numbers to the next letter (wrapping the leftover numbers to the beginning), and test the puzzle again.  Do this until the puzzle is solved.

Here are examples that will get you started.

Test 1

A = 0
B = 1
C = 2
D = 3
E = 4
F = 5
G = 6
H = 7
I = 8
J = 9

Now apply these to the puzzle:

JBFFCAJ = 91 55.209

EGIAABI = 46 80.018

If you check these coordinates with either Fizzy Calc or Google Maps, you will discover that these are not viable coordinates.

Test 2

Shift the numbers to the next letter, and run the same test again.

A = 9
B = 0
C = 1
D = 2
E = 3
F = 4
G = 5
H = 6
I = 7
J = 8

Now apply these to the puzzle:

JBFFCAJ = 80 44.198

EGIAABI = 35 79.907

Posted Coordinates: N 46° 00.312 W 091° 37.110

Compare the test coordinates with the posted coordinates, and you can see that the first two numbers (80 & 35) can't possibly work.  If that isn't obvious to you, use Google Maps or Fizzy Calc to test these coordinates, and you will see that they won't work.

Test 3

A = 8
B = 9
C = 0
D = 1
E = 2
F = 3
G = 4
H = 5
I = 6
J = 7

Now apply these to the puzzle:

JBFFCAJ = 79 33.087

EGIAABI = 24 68.896

Posted Coordinates: N 46° 00.312 W 091° 37.110

Again, compare the test coordinates with the posted coordinates, and you can see that the first two numbers (79 & 24) can't possibly work.

Continue shifting numbers and testing coordinates until you find a combination that will solve the puzzle.

Solved Coordinates:

3.  Verify the Solved Coordinates.

Use GeoCheck to verify the solved coordinates.
