GC197BA - 3 Gangs
By: Bigguy-Pmurk & Team RK
1. Here is the puzzle.
The cache is located at N 44° 31.ABC, W 087° 55.DEF.
bH-sR-Eu=B
UUu-rB-Ta=C
eS-Ga-gd=D
pB-tl+c=E
sC-f-C=F
The Pros, The Neutral Ones and the Elected Ones. The 3 Gangs.
Additional Hints:
I PERIODICally check under the TABLE.
2. Get the Periodic Table of Elements.
Now, using the Periodic Table, identify the Elements in the puzzle and their assigned numeric values.
Kr (Krypton) = 36
Zn (Zinc) = 30
He (Helium) = 2
etc........
You will discover that UUu is not on the list. Here is a Wikipedia link that explains why.
Rg (Roentgenium), formerly UUu = 111
3. Solve the puzzle.
Substitute the alphabetic designation for each Element in the puzzle with its assigned number. Then solve the equation.
4. Put together the solved coordinates.
Here are the solved coordinates:
5. Verify the solved coordinates with GeoChecker.
2. Get the Periodic Table of Elements.
In the Additional Hints section, PERIODIC and TABLE are in capital letters, so we can conclude that the puzzle is solved by using the Periodic Table of Elements.
Here is a link to the Period Table.

Now, using the Periodic Table, identify the Elements in the puzzle and their assigned numeric values.
Kr (Krypton) = 36
Zn (Zinc) = 30
He (Helium) = 2

You will discover that UUu is not on the list. Here is a Wikipedia link that explains why.
Wikipedia - RoentgeniumNow that you know the new designation for the Element UUu is Rg, you can find its assigned numeric value.
Rg (Roentgenium), formerly UUu = 111
3. Solve the puzzle.
Substitute the alphabetic designation for each Element in the puzzle with its assigned number. Then solve the equation.
A = kR (36) - zn (30) - He (2) = 4
B = bH (107) - sR (38) - Eu (63) = 6
C = UUu (111) - rB (37) - Ta (73) = 1
D = eS (99) - Ga (31) - gd (64) = 4
E = pB (82) - tl (81) + c (6) = 7
F = sC (21) - f (9) - C (6) = 6
4. Put together the solved coordinates.

5. Verify the solved coordinates with GeoChecker.
GeoChecker - 3 Gangs
This is an interesting puzzle, because the Periodic Table is another way of converting letters to numbers. I had to look at this puzzle 'periodically' until I came up with the answer. (I know, groan....)
